In June this year Ikea launched their Trash Collective campaign. The ad features broken and discarded Ikea furniture, which is then given a new life—repaired and placed in a showroom of its own—to illustrate how the Swedish retailer’s products can be up-cycled to cut down on waste.

Time’s up on single ownership items. In November Apple announced the launch of their self-repair program, empowering customers who are comfortable to repair their iPhones with genuine Apple parts and tools. The repair and reuse trend is set to grow in 2022 as companies gear up to delivering sustainability and carbon neutrality targets.
