The transition from remote to hybrid to …. who knows what next… Has seen the rise of a new work group - the TWATs: people who go into the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
According to this article, 71% of workers aged 18 to 24 would consider getting a new job if made to return to the office full time. Yet employers and businesses are now pushing to see offices full, five days a week. (See Jacob Rees Mogg’s passive aggressive note left on the desk of civil servants).
Whether you’re a second-home-owning TW&T, a dog-owning TW&T or a parenting TW&T, the rise of this new hybrid hierarchy could cause even more challenges to creating truly hybrid workplaces, and increased division between those with the agency and ability to choose, and those who are being forced back into old models of work.
